Press conference was held on Thursday, 2 February 2017, in the Small Hall of the City of Zadar on the occasion of the opening of the Rector’s Palace. The official opening will be held on 10 February. The conference was led by Head of the Administrative Department for EU funds – Sime Erlic, director of National Museum Zadar – Renata Peros, and director of Zadar Concert Office – Dina Busic. The directors presented a rich cultural program prepared and organized by the City of Zadar, National Museum Zadar and Zadar Concert Office and announced future programs.

 The rich program begins on 10 February and runs until 21 February. The first day of the grand opening starts with the performance of the City Orchestra at 5.30 p.m., which will be continued at Petar Zoranic Square. The official opening of the Palace starts at 8 p.m. Head of Department for EU Funds, Sime Erlic, announced the opening as a “cultural party” because of its rich cultural and entertaining content.

Director of National Museum Zadar, Renata Peros, announced the exhibition named “Six Salon Stories” that will tell us stories about six historical periods of the city of Zadar, which include traces, segments and historical mosaic stones. The exhibition hall will also present “Cabinet of Wonders”, which will take visitors deep into history and origins of the museum. Numerous projections about the cultural and historical life of Zadar will be shown on the first floor of the Palace. The small exhibition hall, on the other hand, will present “Years of Suffering” exhibition and “Zadar nije za dar” (“Zadar is not a gift”) film by Dusko Brale, Zdravko Mustac, Vlado Zrnic and Vedran Cupic. National Museum Zadar is organizing rich educational program too, that include workshops (“Tales of the past”, “Little miracle cabinets”) as well as a presentation of making filigree jewelry. Playrooms with the museum didactic materials will be available during the working hours. Another available feature will be guided tours that will show the entire citizenry exhibitions in the Palace. Finally, the director Peros announced major exhibitions that are already getting ready for the coming months.

Zadar Concert Office prepared a rich musical program for the official opening: Zadar Chamber Orchestra concert “Back in the nest”, HRT’s Jazz Orchestra concert “Latin jazz – Tu fragancia”, Salsa Carnival After Party, book presentation and Music School Blagoje Bersa Zadar concert “70 years of the Music School Blagoje Bersa”, Adreas Scholl concert “Behold a wonder here!”, “Evergreen evening”, Zadar Dance Ensemble performance “Tonight we dance”, Croatian singing music society Zoranić concert “To Zadar”, and the round table “Does Zadar need early music?”. Rich musical program begins on 10 February and runs until 21 February. Tickets for Jazz Orchestra and Salsa Carnival After Party are available at Croatian National Theatre Zadar’s box office from Monday, 6 February from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

All interested will be able to buy tickets an hour before the concert starts in front of the concert area, i.e. Puppet Theatre Zadar and Rector’s Palace, in case there are some left.

Free tickets for all the other programs are available at Croatian National Theatre Zadar’s box office from Wednesday, 8 February from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets for the Music School program held on 15 February, Nada Bezic presentation held on 16 February, and the round table held on 21 February are not subject to purchase.
